SHAMELESS star Jody Latham has taken a break from acting for a very different career as he showed off his £200k Lamborghini.
The actor, who played Philip ‘Lip’ Gallagher in the Channel 4 series, now works in family construction business.
Jody, 41, shared a video of himself on Instagram today alongside his mum on building site.
He told his fans: “The boss lady on job, so far we have two completed four bed detached finished to a high standard. Two week until completion.”
His money-making business saw him make a hefty purchase – in the form of a lime green set of wheels.
The star showed off the flashy motor on his social media.
He shared snaps of the sleek car and said: “I dreamed about this car since I was a little boy. Shame I can’t collect her for another three weeks but it was nice to finally meet her.”
Jody, who also played Rob Grayson in the BBC One soap EastEnders, Liam Clarke in Coronation Street and Hollyoaks as Shane, also has a cosmetics business but appeared to have some financial troubles last year.
He previously told how he got into the beauty business when he met an extra who was doing Botox injections.
Jody claimed his firm Epitique had signed a money-spinning deal to supply dermal fillers for cosmetic treatments to a firm in South Korea.
At the time, The Sun revealed how things appeared to have gone south after documents revealed that Epitique UK Ltd, the business attached to it, was now dormant.
The TV star previously claimed that he wasn’t splashing out too much on a lavish lifestyle.
He said: “I live in a two-bed flat and drive a modest car. I’m pumping everything back into the company.
“It’s valued at £18million. We’ll see where we are in a couple of years. I’ve had money before but not in my hands long enough.”
Jody’s business brain was somewhat distracted in 2020 as the star prioritised his mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.
Jody told James English’s Anything Goes podcast: “I did a stint in rehab – I’ve never spoken about this publicly. It wasn’t for me – but I learned a lot from it.
“My substance abuse is minimal, I do drink sometimes, not every day and not a lot, but because I was going through anxiety and business worries, there was an opportunity to go and refresh.
“It was exhaustion as well. I took a week out, it was going to be a month, but I took a week.”
